Soft Rolls Lovely soft rolls for burgers
Ingredients
- 333 g cake flour
- 5 ml salt
- 10 ml sugar
- 20 g margarine
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 83 ml milk
- 125 ml lukewarm water
Method
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, mix the flour, salt and sugar together.
- Rub the margarine into the mixture with the fingertips. Add the instant yeast and mix.
- Using spiral dough hooks, mix on minimum speed, gradually mixing in the water and milk to form a soft dough.
- Knead for 1 minute on minimum, then increase speed and knead for 4 – 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl and leave to prove in a warm, draught-free place for about an hour, until dough has doubled in size.
- Using the dough hooks again, knead on minimum speed for 30 – 60 seconds to knock back the dough.
- Transfer to a lightly floured surface and divide into 8 equal pieces. Shape into round balls.
- Place the balls, with spaces between them, onto a greased baking tray. Cover with greased plastic and allow to rise in a warm place, about 20 – 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated conventional oven at 200 °C, or thermofan oven at 180 °C, for about 20 – 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
