Rum & Butter Icing Rum flavoured icing for cakes

Ingredients

  • 125 g butter or margarine
  • 500 g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) rum essence
  • OR
  • 1 dessertspoonful (10 ml) of rum
  • orange juice

Method

  • Soften butter or margarine.
  • Add up to 500g icing sugar gradually, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add rum essence or rum.
  • Slowly add enough orange juice to achieve spreading consistency.
  • (Might work well with pineapple juice)
